BEING THERE
FOR OUR BROTHERS
S
ome things never change, and
the success of Eta Chapter
during fall recruitment is one of
those things. Over 80 excellent
young men accepted their bids from
Eta over Labor Day weekend, and
nearly all were initiated on October
7—with a couple hundred active
and alumni brothers in attendance.
On behalf of the other chapter
advisors and myself, we want to
extend a huge thank you to all the
alumni who arrived very early on the
morning of investiture to assist with
the Ritual process. It truly enhanced
the experience for those young men.
This past summer was anything
but a sleeper for Eta house. Several
improvements and renovations were
overseen by House Corporation
President Tonquin Stovall '90 and
performed by Yates Construction.
The dorms received new wardrobes
and furniture floor plans to create a
more comfortable and usable space
for our members. The back patio was
expanded to increase guest capacity
and function for outdoor events.
Also, the wood gate in the backyard
was replaced with a custom iron
gate that represents the strength and
permanence of Sigma Chi.
It's hard to say who has more fun on
Parents' Weekend, but no one leaves
lacking a great time. This year's
events took place at the chapter
house, and the Parents Club did an
incredible job coordinating the food,
drinks, and music. Hopefully, the
spring semester Parents' Weekend
will be just as fun and memorable.
