Chapter members have lived in the new 906 for more than one full year, and we have learned so much about how to operate a house much larger than the old 906. One thing is clear: The traditions many of us enjoyed are alive and well. From sunbathing to gathering to watch favorite TV shows, the chapter women are taking advantage of the new house. HCB has made it a priority to enhance the function and feel of the spaces throughout the house to ensure a safe, useful, enjoyable, and competitive space. We have done so by making significant investments in furnishings and interior updates to several rooms, including: • The return of Phi Beach: The sunporch was outfitted with all-new lounge furniture relished equally by sunbathers and studying sisters. Right inside its doors, the third-floor Alumnae Lounge was completely redecorated with new furniture, rugs, and accessories—and now feels more like a cozy, modern, and fun hangout space. • Elevated study spaces: On the first floor, Study A was updated with all-new or reupholstered furnishings, making the room a functional, welcoming, and attractive place to focus. The second- and third-floor study lounges were spruced up with new, lively wallpaper, providing a great environment for group projects and Alpha Phi committee meetings. HCB has set the aggressive goal of updating all the bedroom furniture—including loft beds, desks, chairs, and dressers—within the next two years. This past summer, we purchased new bedroom and lounge furniture in the second- and third-floor suites, an added perk in addition to the private baths and meeting spaces these rooms provide the Executive Council members. All these projects were made possible by campaign contributions generously donated by our alumnae and friends and through the donated design services of Julie Walberg Riggin '01. HCB and the chapter women are incredibly grateful. Thank you! This summer, we welcomed our new House Director, Megan Baker. Megan comes to us with tremendous property management experience and jumped in quickly to lead all house maintenance and management tasks. We see Megan as a new kind of House Director, one who is warm and caring of the chapter women and an experienced professional equipped to manage a 40,000 square foot facility. So, what's next? We'll continue to make interior updates to common rooms throughout the house and purchase new bedroom furniture. We are also forming a strategy committee to determine how and when to finish the basement. Your continued support of our work to ensure the chapter thrives and the experiences that shaped us live on is greatly appreciated. Yours Loyally, Amy Jordan '87 House Corporation Board President New lounge chairs for Phi Beach! New or upholstered furniture throughout the house makes our home even more cozy and beautiful!
