BUILDING FOR OUR NEXT GENERATION W ith the support of alumnae like Betty Westbrook Trant, Texas Alpha '44 for the last 40 years, our home in College Station has provided members a space to gather, meet lifelong friends and achieve academic goals. As the chapter grows and the house matures, Texas Eta Chapter House Corporation (CHC) must bring the facility up to current standards while maintaining a premier living experience for all members. CURRENT CONCERNS After 35 years in the facility, our beloved home struggles to meet the current needs of our collegians, including overall modernization to infrastructure, technology upgrades to operate in a digital world, a needed redesign of interior spaces to meet the changing lifestyle of our youngest sisters, an expansion of space to accommodate the growing size of the chapter and enhanced security at the chapter facility. JOURNEY TO THE RENOVATION In fall 2021, CHC evaluated the best approach to renovating the chapter house. A building and security assessment was commissioned to determine a cost estimate and understand the needs of the facility before a renovation plan was set in place. A feasibility study was then conducted in fall 2022 to connect with alumnae and understand their willingness to support the renovation plans and the chapter. To continue moving the project forward, Texas Eta CHC is working with a design and architect team to create formal plans and break ground on renovations. Our collegians and CHC want to keep the homey feel of the current Pi Phi house while updating the space to ensure a productive, safe and accommodating environment. While the comfort and history of our current Pi Phi home will always remain, there is an exciting and vibrant future ahead for 1601 Munson Avenue. We encourage you to visit the chapter house in the coming months. "Texas Eta represents to me today what it did almost 40 years ago— sisterhood tied through the bonds of wine and silver blue. Whether it is through time with the chapter members or alumnae, when I walk through the doors of the Texas Eta house today, I am taken back to the days of my youth yet still feel so connected through this sisterhood. –Tara Bradburn '87, Chapter House Corporation President
