Ties to Tau page 2 A s the fall semester warms up (and the weather cools down!) at the University of Iowa, we reflect on our spring and summer accomplishments and anticipate upcoming events. Back in April, we hosted our annual Anchor Splash for Service for Sight, raising over $8,000! We also hosted an amazing formal at the Courtyard Marriott as well as sisterhoods at the Chapter house (and fun locations like an arcade)! In May, we gave a bittersweet goodbye to our newest alumnae, holding a senior dinner and proudly watching them graduate. Over the summer, our sisters traveled, including trips to the lake or to each others' hometowns! Alexandra Mielke '22 attended the Lewis Institute, where she joined workshops and took a tour of Executive Offices! I was honored to represent Tau at the 150th Homecoming Celebration in Memphis, Tennessee, with over 800 sisters. I attended workshops, a dessert reception, a 150th celebration gala, and a trip to our founding grounds in Oxford, Mississippi. We visited the once-known Lewis School for Girls, the Alpha Psi Chapter at Ole Miss, and many locations where our founders gathered. This was an amazing experience that really connected me to Delta Gamma and our founders. Already this fall, we had a very successful Work Week in preparation for recruitment! Our EVC, including Allie Duffy '20, Emily Cummings '20, Sydney Curtis '21, and Annalise Harp '21, worked hard, and it all paid off on a wonderful Bid Day on October 1. Soon, we will hold our annual fall retreat, Slices for Sight, Dude's Weekend, and the start of our election process. We can't wait for a filled schedule this fall!
