Sigma Chi 3 L ast year was yet another fine one for Zeta Psi Chapter, and we are proud of all we accomplished in the spring. To name a few: • In February, we won seven awards from the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life—the most of any chapter—including Chapter of the Year. • We recruited a robust nine-person pledge class and initiated them on March 4. • For Derby Days, we raised a total of $22,592 for the Huntsman Cancer Institute, extending our long streak in the "$20K Club." • We strengthened our relationships with both Greek and non-Greek organizations and staged various events, such as a concert and a mental health seminar. • Near the end of the semester, seven brothers were tapped into four different honor societies, a testament to our members' significant and wide-ranging leadership on campus. • We maintained one of the best chapter GPAs among fraternities—well above the averages for both men and the campus at large. • Our very own Shelby Mecklenborg finished her two-year term as International Sweetheart of Sigma Chi. is semester, our chapter has no plans to rest on its laurels. e opening of our newly renovated chapter house is an amazing opportunity for us, and we intend to make full use of it. Our first goal was to move into the house as seamlessly as possible. While we did not anticipate any challenges, it was still important that our officers and in-house brothers were given the right tools and information to make the transition a successful one. Our executive committee put many hours of thought into the opening of the new house, and we are proud to share that it was a success! Our second goal was to initiate a great fall pledge class to accentuate this new page in our chapter's history. We anticipated that the new house would attract higher-than-average numbers of men to our recruitment events, so we focused on getting recruitment right. Our recruitment chairmen and, truly, all our brothers ensured that each bid voted on met the Jordan Standard. Membership is the lifeblood of every organization, and fraternities are no exception. Aer all, what good is a chapter house if the men inside it cannot live up to the fraternity's tenets and values? Our third goal is to encourage greater interaction between the active and alumni chapter. Ultimately, this new chapter house is the work of you all, so we think it is only appropriate to host alumni at events such as tailgates, recruitment, pledging, Homecoming, and initiation. Please keep your eyes peeled for announcements from us via the Cincinnati Alumni Chapter this fall. On behalf of all our undergraduates, thank you for your generosity and love for this chapter and fraternity. We look forward to seeing you around the house soon!
