"As a mother of two actives, I know a renovation is imperative to keep up with others on the row.
Our house is beautiful and has historic meaning, but it is in definite need of remodeling to be
competitive." –Connie Leggio Dantagnan '89, Campaign Board Member
A Sisterhood in
Need of Space
Phi Mu, like most sororities at LSU, has experienced
tremendous growth in the last 20 years. Alpha Eta
has, on average, 310-330 active members, with
projections of 380 women after this fall's recruitment.
While this growth is welcomed and appreciated, our
beautiful A. Hays Town home was constructed for a
much smaller group. We need to add to the house to
accommodate the growing Chapter size.
Competition at an
All-Time High
Many LSU Greek houses have completed
remodels, additions, and even rebuilds to
accommodate today's members and lifestyles.
Alpha Eta must provide the same experience with
an aesthetically pleasing and functional home. Our
house needs to reflect and complement our strong
recruitment efforts.
More Space
to Be Together
Sisterhood is at the core of our Phi Mu experience
—we need more communal space for sisters to
be together in the house. With only 50 members
able to live in the facility at a time, we wish to
create an environment where ALL sisters can call
the house their home. Updating the house will
positively affect Chapter morale and pride.

S
ince 1965, 4090 W. Lakeshore Drive has been a part of Alpha Eta's story and home to hundreds of Phi Mu sisters. The facility is aging, however,
and needs to evolve to remain competitive and relevant in today's campus environment.
