This popular event designed for seniors in our community will once again draw folks to St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church in Bella Vista. "The community looks forward to this event twice a year, and we're happy to present it once again," said organizer Trisha Ayers. Ayers has been involved in the event for years through her work with various senior organizations. "With so many senior-focused products and services all under one roof, it's a great way to see what's new, what's available and what you may not know about," she continued. The free event offers the surrounding area an opportunity to discover people, places and things of special interest to the senior community. Proceeds from the event traditionally go to local nonprofit in the area with a heart for seniors. This time, the SALT (Seniors and Law Enforcement Together) Council will be the beneficiary. The SALT Council is comprised of law enforcement personnel, emergency service agencies, and other representatives of the community dedicated to the protection and well-being of elder citizens in NWA. The SALT Council holds Senior Safety Academies, for example, with topics relevant to seniors— such as elder care law, scams targeting seniors, identity theft, Medicare fraud and prescription drug safety. More than 50 vendors are scheduled for the upcoming Expo, including elder law practices, senior care communities, health providers, various nonprofit groups and so much more. It's a great opportunity to connect with the people and organizations that provide enriching life and health services for seniors here in NWA. Make sure you take advantage of flu shots, free health evaluations and loads of helpful information about for seniors. Vendors will be providing free samples, snacks, giveaways and lots of opportunities to win great door prizes.
