What a wonderful idea. is column is dedicated to our community's favorite Subway lady and one of the people who I cross paths with in my everyday life who I love the most. Frances Barnes is not just an example of five-star customer service. She is someone who has, on so many occasions, shone her light on my family and on me. She embodies happiness, humor, and positivity, and, gosh knows, we need more people like her. As I started writing this, I realized that in all my encounters with her, I had never even asked her name. But when our editor said, "We've GOT to get the Subway Lady's photo!" I called the restaurant and got her name, and we sent a photographer. On my next visit to Subway, I am going to bypass the drive-thru, get out of my car, take a hard copy of our magazine to Frances Barnes and tell her it is my way of saying "thank you" for just being her. I am glad that now I know her name, because she is so much more to me than just "the Subway Lady." And I hope that the next time you fancy a sub and a smile, you will go visit her too.
