Yes, but a small one com- pared to the rest of the world. Syria has pro- duced the most massive number of refugees, fol- lowed by Venezuela, Ukraine, Afghanistan, and South Sudan. South Sudan became a separate country in 2011 after a civil war. In the way of wars, it reemerged in 2013 creating devastation on such a massive scale that some 2.4 million refugees, mostly women and children, have fled the country to surrounding African countries. Learn about this crisis from Linda Mohlman of the New Heights Church and her student refugee workers in Uganda, which shelters over 800,000 South Sudanese. The group also works with refugee groups in Sudan. Learn from this non-profit group how they offer as - sistance with such massive human needs. And….has it al- ways been the Big Dipper? Learn to use a plani- sphere (star chart) to locate constellations from Raymond Towne, an experienced star gazer and classics scholar. You will receive a planisphere to help locate stars and constellations during out- side night excursions. Yes! Outside in the dark. At the same time learn how older cultures have viewed the stars and constellations starting with the ancient Sumerians, some of the earli- est known astronomers, and moving forward in time to the slow rotation of constellations from references in the Bible to the Age of Aquarius.
