Proud Sponsor of Bentonville Athletics www.bobmoreyautobody.com Mon-Fri 7:30am to 5:00pm 1019 N Walton Blvd. Bentonville, AR 72712 479-271-7292 SHINE ON 7A-West can be friendly rivals until teams actually meet HENRY APPLE NWA DEMOCRAT-GAZETTE While the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette football media days took place, coaches and players from the 7A-West Conference took some time to visit and chat with each other, like brothers oen do when they hadn't seen each other in a while. But brothers don't always get along that well. ey fuss, they argue and sometimes they have to do things to settle their differences — much like what 7A-West teams usually do on Friday nights once league play begins, and the 2023 season will be no different. "I think everybody knows what the 7A-West is," said Rogers Heritage second- year coach Eric Munoz. "It's a tough conference to be in and a tough schedule to have. ere are great coaches, and you have to be on your toes before every game. You have to have great game plans and have your players locked in. "When you play all those games straight through, it's tough. It's a physical conference, and you have to be healthy and ready to go every night." Bentonville represented the 7A-West family well when it reached the state championship game for the first time since 2017. e Tigers did so with playoff victories over Cabot and North Little Rock, the two teams that used last- minute heartbreaks to end Bentonville's past two seasons. e Tigers then took a 7-0 lead over Bryant on Logan Roberson's early fumble recovery for a touchdown, but the Hornets went on to claim their fih straight title with a 36-7 victory. Now Bentonville has its eyes on getting back to Little Rock again, only to win it this time around. "I'm excited to see how the 7A-West JAXSON BRUST SCHOOL Bentonville West POSITION Wide receiver CLASS Senior HEIGHT 5-9 WEIGHT 175 TWITTER HANDLE @lil_jswishyy THE DIGITS Earned all-conference honors last season after he caught 66 passes for 729 yards and 8 TDs. … Had eight receptions in three games last season, including the Wolverines' 35-24 victory over Fort Smith Southside as he finished with 102 yards and 3 TDs in that game. … Returned 6 punts for 53 yards (8.8 yard average), including a 15-yard return during a playoff victory over Jonesboro. … Switched jersey numbers this season from 80 to 2 upon the request of friend and former teammate Ty Durham, who wore 2 last year. FAVORITE PREGAME MEAL "Obviously something a little light because you don't want to have too much. I will have to say a little chicken and rice, maybe a little mac and cheese or something."
