"What makes Cedar Lodge unique, I think, is the atmosphere," Linda said. "There is so much to look at. We have a three-night minimum stay and you really need three days to just to see everything. Even when people come back again they see things they didn't see before." Venture outside you will find a large cabana with a full-size refrigerator, fireplace, outdoor tv and fire pit for roasting marshmallows. And you haven't even made it down to the shoreline yet where you will find a large dock with canoes, kayaks and paddle boats, plenty of water lily pads to float on plus a water slide. They also have boat rentals for guests who are staying at the house. This luxury vacation rental is the perfect venue offering a peaceful getaway for family vacations or reunions, corporate meetings and retreats, weddings, mountain bikers, golf enthusiasts, and so much more. Every season brings a different backdrop to the lodge. The fall foliage will make your nearby trail hiking so enchanting, but a snowy winter will keep you wrapped up and toasty by one of the several fireplaces. During the warmer months you'll need to take advantage of the dock, too! "We actually own four other vacation rentals," Linda said. "It works out well because one of our properties is one door down from Cedar Lodge. We often rent the two together for weddings or family reunions. And we also own two resorts directly across the lake from Cedar Lodge. We have a lot of flexibility and availability if Cedar Lodge is booked or too big for their needs." The Swalves also own a fifth vacation rental in Noel, MO on the Elk River. Linda and Richard purchased the property in October 2020 from Dave and Sandy Berry, who, with plans to retire, approached the Swalves and asked if they'd like to buy it. The Swalves own a construction business, Swalve Enterprises LLC, and remodel hospitals, so with their experience in maintenance and construction, they felt they were an ideal fit.
