The town is preparing to update its General Plan, which acts as the foundational policy document guiding the future vision of the town for the next de- cade. Every 10 years, residents vote on amending the Town's General Plan. The next one will be voted on November 5th, 2024. Quartzsite Planning & Zoning Commissioners have been discussing amending the 2014 General Plan since July 2022. This unique and collaborative opportunity allows residents, businesses, and stakeholders to come together, voice their concerns, contribute innova- tive solutions, and actively engage in planning for Quartzsite's future. Participants will discuss various elements of the General Plan, including land use, infrastructure, economic development, community services, and more. The Kick-off Workshop will be held 10am- 2pm on Friday, September 15th. | Tuesday, August 8th, the Quartzsite Town Council approved a Tempo- rary Use Permit for Salome Concrete to operate a concrete batch plant to supply concrete for the 88-stall TESLA Project for an operational period of 45 days. Salome Concrete owner David Eeds told the council he plans on starting at 1am, instead of 3am, due to the heat. The work area is located north of Terrible's fuel sta- tion, which is on the corner of W. Main & Quartzsite Blvd. Eeds told Desert Messenger News he hopes to begin working as soon as possible. TESLA hopes to be open in September.
