10 August 2023 Business Connections ealtor Lueanne Wood, P.A. says she's in a people business. She takes pride in being named among the Business Connections Top 40 Business Professionals for 6 consecutive years. She has been the major champagne sponsor for many events in Venice during the past 25 years. She has sponsored a pig, a turtle and a seahorse (named Panasea) with Venice Art Center's fundraising projects. Other causes she's supported in the past include VABI, Venice Chamber of Commerce, Venice Theater, Venice Mainstreet, 180 House, Community Dinners, "Just Because" (dollars for mammograms), Venice High School Lady Indians, Habitat for Humanity, Laurel Civic Center, among others. She was one of the major sponsors for the free Family Fun Day at the Venice Art Center on Saturday July 29, 2023, where over 1,100 people attended. Lueanne bought a three-story town house on the beach in 1985. She lived there for more than 37 years, hosting AAUW fundraising tours, dinner parties, and other social events. She and her husband Larry got married there and they've hosted several friends' weddings. Lueanne's secret to success? The customer is king and communication is key. "You're not a number with me. You're a person." Lueanne was named among the Women of the Year in 2021, and took the top Best of Venice luxury real estate agent in 2022. After nearly 35 years, one of her biggest achievements was in 2017 when a seller paid her a full commission as the selling agent and a $50,000 bonus for bringing in a cash buyer for a $2.7 million dollar sale. That's never happened before in a residential sale on the island. Owning investment property is another key. "I own a mid-century home in Golden Beach and now live at Island Shores on the beach," she said. "Living the dream," she says. Lueanne moved to Venice from New York. When you meet her, she seems to talk a little faster. But listen closely because she has all the heads up on all the Real Estate trends in the local market, and she'll be able to get to the point more easily. One thing is certain, Lueanne's fast paced business background did not prepare her for an early retirement from her career as a corporate retail executive, but her Real Estate clients aren't complaining. Lueanne works at the Keller Williams Island Life Real Estate office, which she says is "a very professional environment with Broker Brandy Coffey at the helm, along with her brother, Dayton.
