As a nurse, Sommer knew
the signs of a heart attack.
Quickly calling 911 saved her life.
"I felt like I was going to pass out and I don't remember anything aer
that until I woke up in the ambulance trying to breathe. I had gone into
cardiac arrest and they had to perform CPR," Sommer said.
Because she called 911, first responders were able to start lifesaving
measures immediately, even before she reached the hospital, and saved
her life.
"When you are talking about the heart, time is the muscle," she said.
"Know the risk factors, recognize the symptoms and get help as soon
as possible."
