Tiny Town has big plans as family legacy continues in new location I n 1951, Herbert and Marilyn Fleishman opened Tiny Town, selling sleepers, rattles, blankets and clothing for infants. "My parents are in this building," says their son, Michael Fleishman, standing in the former location on Fort Bragg Road. "I see them sitting in the chairs." Today, Tiny Town is serving third- and fourth-generation customers as Michael and his sisters, Marcie Justice and Minda Fleishman, carry on their parents' legacy. But these days, it's not in the same building. Tiny Town recently moved into the former Stein Mart department store space in Highland Centre on Raeford Road. Michael Fleishman says he thinks his mother and father would be pleased. e children's boutique is one of two new occupants of the Stein Mart space, part of Fayetteville's constantly changing retail landscape. Lori's Ace Home & Hardware opened in March to become the city's first Ace Hardware location. e franchise is owned by Lori Tracy and Nate Stobbe, who relocated to Fayetteville from Minneapolis last year. A few doors down is another new tenant. School Tools is relocating from Robeson Street in downtown Fayetteville to a space near High Cotton Consignment in Highland Centre. Harris Teeter is the anchor tenant. e new Tiny Town location is the fourth in its 72-year history. "We're excited about it," says Marcie Justice, who thinks the heavier traffic flow on Raeford Road will be good for business. "We're just going to be making new memories."
