ALUMNI NEWS
Alden S. Bean '54 lives in Midlothian, Va., and had a
successful TAVR surgery in 2022. He lost his wife of
64 years in 2023 from Alzheimer's disease.
Robert A. Bailey '57 lives in Eagan, Minn., and is
still going at 85!
David W. Abbott '58 lives in Matthew, N.C.; he goes to
the gym three times a week and enjoys hanging out with
his grandchildren. "At 84, I just keep on keeping on."
Howard G. Hershey '61 is semi-retired from UNC
and serves on two boards, meaning he gets to travel
several times a year! Howard lives in Chapel Hill,

John C. Lisle '63 celebrates his 60th year of
membership this year. He snowbirds in Arizona from

Steven R. Caswell '67 is a tour guide at Strategic
Air Command and Aerospace Museum. He lives in
Elkhorn, Neb.
Michael W. Barnes '80 has published an action-
adventure novel, Off the Algo. It's a classic thriller
interweaving a rich assortment of personalities at
the cutting edge of politics, terrorism, extortion, and
technology. Michael comes from a family of Phi
Psi Brothers: his late father, Dr. Wayne '53, and his
brother, Matthew '86. Michael lives in New Orleans,

John T. Mathews '82 moved to Houston, Texas, to be
a part of his first grandchild's life.

John M. Loughlin '04 moved back to his hometown
of Cherokee, Iowa, after law school. "Raising two kids

minimum ACT score of 25 or SAT score of 1130 (if applicable) are eligible.
