E.N.R.I.C.H. YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR CHILD Written by Dr. Debbie Kruenegel-Farr '73 Having worked with children and families for over 30 years, Dr. Debbie's training and experience were a springboard for her book. The acronym E.N.R.I.C.H. stands for encouragement, empathy, naming emo ons, nega ves, respect, redirec on, reasoning, iden ty, involvement, communica on, consequences, humor, health, and happiness. Grounded in family science, posi ve paren ng, and posi ve psychology, these 14 strategies are clearly described, using research- based informa on in an easy-to-read format. Dr. Debbie gives readers detailed examples of each strategy and opportuni es for self-reflec on. The book also includes a sec on on resilience and parental self-compassion.
