The Ivy 3 T hrough good and bad, the sisters of Beta Beta Chapter have persevered and endeavored to excel together. As we hold each other close through the tragedies on our campus, we can't help but be so incredibly grateful for this family that we can lean on and heal with. As a sorority, we value our oldest traditions, but starting new traditions is something we love just as much. Back in August, before the fall semester formally began, we had the opportunity to start something new within our chapter called Camp Alpha Phi. We ventured to a campground for the night and had the most special time. We participated in team building activities and bonding sessions, and we left feeling more prepared for recruitment than ever. We also shared countless laughs and had the chance to be vulnerable. What better place to do that than with your sisters? During Heart Health Week, Philanthropy Chairman Keely Messacar '21 went above and beyond to make it a joyful and memorable time for everyone. We started off the week raising money with a Women's Heart Health Bingo. Then, we sold Alpha PHIzza and Chick PHI La on Albert Street. In the middle of the week, we hosted Mr. Heart Throb and a Raising Canes fundraiser. To end the week, we had our Red Dress Gala. Overall, we raised more than $20,000 for the Alpha Phi Foundation. In February, our executive board took a trip to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, for a conference that gathered Alpha Phis from around the United States. We learned new ways to improve our chapter and implement different skills during our day-to-day sorority activities. Not only did we learn a lot, but we also had the chance to share unique things our chapter does at Michigan State. To end the trip, we had the honor of taking home the Outstanding Marketing and Social Media Award, which was extremely exhilarating!
