youth Talent Contest rules QuAlIFICATIOnS & RulES 1. The Youth Talent Contest is designed primarily for amateur talent, but any act which qualifies otherwise is eligible even if the act received pay at some time EXCEPT where the person(s) are engaged in the entertainment business or paid instructors of the Arts. Acts that may be considered professional should be brought to the attention of the County Youth Talent Director so they may notify the State Director should the contestant qualify for State Competition. 2. Any contestant appearing younger or older than the age limits specified should be prepared to furnish proof of age to the County Contest Director. 3. Contestants must be legal residents of Benton County, Arkansas. Contestants must not have ever been convicted of any crime or have any criminal charges pending. 4. The winner of each of each Junior & Senior talent categories will be eligible to compete at the Arkansas State Fair. 5. No contestant will be allowed to compete in more than two categories. 6. In the event a contestant's parents are divorced and live in separate counties and have been court ordered to reside jointly with both parents, the contestant can only compete in one of the two counties in which the contestant's parents reside. 7. If there is a tie for winner in any category, the County Youth Talent Director will determine which winner will be eligible to compete at the State Fair. 8. If the winner of a category chooses not to compete in the Arkansas State Fair, and notifies Director before entry forms are submitted, the runner-up may compete in their stead. 9. All acts must be performed on the stage. Please keep the stage dimensions in mind when preparing your talent presentation. 10. Contestants are required to be on time for rehearsal and contest. Please notify the Director in advance if there is a conflict with the rehearsal and accommodations (i.e. going first or last) might be possible as long as it falls within the allotted rehearsal time. 11. Entry forms must be legible and signed by contestant(s) and contestant's parent or guardian (unless 18 years of age or older); (3) director. 12. There is no fee for competing in the Youth Talent Contest. 13. No entry forms will be accepted after the deadline listed on form. 14. Any display of poor sportsmanship and/or unbecoming conduct, any interference and/or disturbance, or any other behavioral problem created by a 78 2023 Benton County Fair
