"We love having a space to entertain family and friends for special events or holidays. is time last year, we were just putting the finishing touches on the house and moving. We just didn't have time to sit back and really enjoy it. So we are both looking forward to it this spring," Deanna says. Chris looks forward to trying new recipes on their Big Green Egg smoker and having friends over. "We hope that this is an area that we as well as our family and friends, also our kids and their friends, will enjoy for many years to come," says Deanna. Casual, friendly neighbors For Vance and Lauren Townsend, the backyard is all about family and friends. ey can step out on their cul-de-sac and find close-knit neighbors excited to spend time together. When they bought the house seven years ago, they envisioned a place where they could raise their 9-year-old twins, Davis and Maggie, and create lasting memories. But it has become much more than that for their family. Lauren jokes that their street has become known in the community for the number of twins who live there. "Our street is known as Twincliff," says Lauren. "At one time, we've had four families with twins living around us. I think there have been five sets of twins in recent years." e families on the cul-de-sac oen socialize together. "It's pretty casual on our street, so whoever is around just seems to get together. It's fun," says Lauren. e family that once owned the Townsends' house returns for outdoor get- togethers and to visit their adult children who live nearby. "At one of the parties we hosted, we had three generations who had all lived here and now still live close by. Whenever we get together, they will talk about their memories of raising their children in this house. It's pretty special," Lauren says. e Townsends also have family nearby. Vance's brother, Alex, and his family moved into the house across the street almost two years ago.
