Pursuing a dream, Rob & Diana Jensen left their high-tech engineering
careers and started making wine in their Silicon Valley garage in
1993. 30 years later, that dream has grown to national prominence
garnering nearly sixteen hundred 90+ scores by renowned wine
critics, was crowned winery of the year by the Connoisseurs' Guide,
and has been selected best winery in Silicon Valley 12 years in a row
by the San Jose Mercury News.
A producer of premier California Pinot Noir and Chardonnay and
steward of the Historic Novitiate Winery, Testarossa Winery is
celebrating 30 years of success this year.
The Novitiate Winery was originally built in 1888 by Jesuit Fathers and
Brothers from Santa Clara College (now Santa Clara University) and
it was intended to help fund their new seminary college, built on the
grounds the same year. The Jesuits made wine for nearly 100 years in
the original three-floor, gravity-flow winery that Testarossa now uses to
make their small lot award-winning wines.
