F all 2022 was a strong semester for Beta Tau. After recruiting over 85 new members, our chapter continued to thrive in all aspects of sisterhood. We hosted a variety of sisterhood events, thrived academically, and raised money for a cause that Sigma Kappa holds close to our hearts. At the 99th Sigma Kappa National Convention, Beta Tau was awarded the Exceeding Excellence Chapter SOE Award. We also received the Excellence in Service Award; member Nicole Wasserman '19 received the Excellence in Leadership Award; and the Beta Tau Housing Corporation received the Barbara Fenters Outstanding Corporation Board Award. Our chapter was humbled to receive these awards on a national level, and our sisters were passionate to continue our stride in fall 2022. We hosted two philanthropy events benefiting the Alzheimer's Association's Walk to End Alzheimer's—Sigma Shootout and Sigma Slices—and raised over $4,000 for the organization with these alone. Our fundraising did not stop there, as we hosted Spirit Nights at local restaurants and promoted the cause to family and friends. In total, we raised over $20,000 for the Gainesville Walk to End Alzheimer's! Our sisters have thrived on campus and in the community. Former President Emma Carter '19 served as the UF Homecoming Chairman, overseeing multiple large-scale events for the entire city. Cristina Negraru '20 and Alyssa DeRoche '21 were selected to serve as Preview Staffers in 2023, and Bianca Barrios '21, Amanda Lieber '21, and Sidney Ruedas '20 served as Senators in Student Government. Many of our sisters have secured internships and job opportunities around the country this upcoming summer. 2022 came to an end with the election of new executive and programming councils. Members of the 2023 executive council worked together to further emphasize sisterhood, accountability, inter- council relations, and philanthropic initiatives for the upcoming year. The chapter is excited to welcome a new member class this spring, and the chapter is excited for what 2023 will bring Beta Tau.
