T
he ΣAE Gamma Cycling bike team has been working hard in
our indoor cycling facility this winter, as well as getting out on
the roads when the weather permits. We are happy to announce
that we have a stable of six riders on our 2023 bike team this year
who are very fit, committed, and hungry. The team is focused on
a strong finish in the 72nd running of the Little 500, scheduled for
Saturday, April 22.
Once again, the team will be coached by Gamma HOF alumnus
Bill Naas '95. Additional members of the ΣAE Gamma Cycling
alumni group helping with various responsibilities include
Brent Burke '77, David "Bear" Barrick '79, Jim "Fish"
Fissinger '83, and Travis Verhoff '14.
As you know, it takes a lot of time, sacrifice, and money to put a
quality team on the track from year to year. We could not do it
without the ongoing financial support from our alumni, who
represent nearly all of the donations. Please consider a financial

A big shoutout and thank you to alumnus rider Ryan McBee '02
for generously purchasing five CycleOps Hammer Bike Trainers for
the ΣAE Gamma Indoor Cycling Facility—very generous and much
needed. Thank you, Ryan!
Like other Greek teams, ΣAE Gamma Cycling has to compete each
year against the privately and very well-funded independent cycling
teams like Cutters, Black Key Bulls, Gray Goat, Bears, 3PH, Jet
Blach, and others. This makes funding our program a huge, important
endeavor. All money goes directly to the team for expenses.
As the ΣAE Gamma Cycling team continues to prepare for the 2023
Little 500, please feel free to stop by the house or the track to watch
the team train and race. Below is a calendar of 2023 spring events.
