place," she says. "My barn was always a safe
place to go."
Best envisions her horses winning
championships.
"e end goal is to win a world title with
one or more of our training horses," says
Best.
A horse she sold won at the world
championship last year in Oklahoma.
Best and Raynor are proud of their
accomplishment.
"We broke him and sold him and made
him work for the people. at was awesome,"
says Best.
Best has other clients training for the
world championship, where some will be
competing this year.
Best says Feather Ridge welcomes
beginners, recreational riders and
competitors alike.
"I do have more adults contacting me
looking for something new, but mainly we
have kids who've never ridden before," says
Best. "We show them how to do everything
from the ground up. at's one of our strong
suits here — teaching beginner lessons to
people who have never touched a horse
before," says Best.
"We have a lady whose husband bought
her riding lessons for Christmas. It was her
goal to just get on and ride a horse. Aer
the third lesson she said, 'is is awesome
and what I want to do.'" Best says. "Now she
volunteers at a horse rescue and wants to be
more involved with horses."
Best knows that feeling well.
