W hen you think of Sigma Phi Epsilon, what do you think of first? e brothers in your class, Drake Relays, the date party where you met your future wife? Looking back on our own experiences in the Chapter, the countless memories and forged friendships remind us of the truly unforgettable experience we shared together. We will never forget our years as undergraduates or the center of our brotherhood: our SigEp Chapter House. How We Arrived to Today Our Chapter House at 1243 34th Street has been the focus of undergraduate life for SigEp since 2001. Whether you lived at 1243 34th Street or in one of the many Chapter Houses we occupied before 2001, the SigEp house has served as a home away from home for over 1,000 young men and as a classroom where brothers learn the value of brotherhood and community. Our organization has seen a great amount of success over the past 72 years, and we are dedicated to ensuring that this excellence continues for years to come. Early commitments from 43 alumni have already raised over $572,000. is is an impressive start, and now we need your assistance to reach or exceed our campaign goal of $1 million. In the coming weeks, you will receive additional information detailing the project, the campaign, and ways in which you can help. is is a time to reflect on your SigEp experience. Remember the impact this brotherhood made on you and imagine how this Chapter will affect future brothers. Iowa Delta has given each of us an irreplaceable experience; it is our duty to honor our membership and invest in the future of Sigma Phi Epsilon at Drake University. Securing Our Tradition of Excellence Capital Campaign Alumni and undergraduate leadership have created a plan to address the long-term viability of the Sigma Phi Epsilon experience on Drake University's campus. To begin this new phase for Iowa Delta, we are excited to announce the Securing Our Tradition of Excellence capital campaign. Here are the projects we plan to complete through this campaign: Maintain Excellence on 34th Street (Estimated Cost: $520,000) Renovations include replacing the roof; updating the HVAC and boiler; remodeling the kitchen and purchasing new appliances; repairing the driveway and sidewalk; upgrading the electrical and lighting; replacing the flooring in 17 rooms and the common areas; installing steel doors for all rooms; painting the exterior/interior; adding a pipe-burst detection system; upgrading the Wi-Fi; purchasing furniture for rooms and front living rooms; replacing the shutters; upgrading the weight room; and enhancing emergency exits. Invest in the Leaders of Tomorrow (Estimated Cost: $250,000) Raise $250,000 for scholarship endowments to nurture leadership and scholastic excellence. Reduce Financial and Operational Risk (Estimated Cost: $230,000) e Alumni and Volunteer Corporation is servicing approximately $350,000 of debt remaining from the mortgage of the house. e loan will come to term in 2023, at which point the AVC hopes to be able to pay off the remainder of the loan. is will increase our financial stability.
