2023 Bella Vista City Guide | 27 e James Bond film "Diamonds Are Forever" was the inspiration for the glitzy glamor and casino fun of Concordia's 50th anniversary gala held on November 18. Months of planning preceded the celebration which featured live music, dancing, heavy (and oh so delicious!) hors d'oeuvres and casino games like roulette, Blackjack, horse races and craps. e winners' chips were turned in for chances to win raffle prizes, and these were spectacular, including a weekend getaway to Big Cedar Lodge, tickets for the Walton Art Center, Top Golf and many others. e party started at 6 p.m. and was held in the Concordia Admin. building, which the hard-working staff and volunteers magically transformed into a casino wonderland with gold and black and white décor, lights, streamers, disco ball, a game room and lounge. Residents, guests and executive staff dressed in formal and semiformal attire. Other staff members who served food, cleared tables and performed other tasks, wore casino garb, with white shirts, black bowties and black trousers. e evening ended at 9:00 p.m. with remarks from Marketing Director Cindee Johnson and Executive Director Angie Clark, followed by a toast. Clark attributes the long history and success of the Bella Vista retirement community to "hiring the right employees who have a passion for seniors." is, she says, is number one in her book. "It's more than a job to these folks. It's a calling. We love what we do." Concordia offers independent and assisted living options.
