Frank L. Bruning
'44 passed away
on June 1, 2020, at
the age of 94. Other
than the years he
spent serving in
the U.S. Marines
or on campus at
the University of
Nebraska, Frank
spent his entire life
in Bruning, Neb.
Frank graduated
from UNL in animal science after serving in
Guam. Frank and his wife, Mary, created the
business Feedlot Fencing, which built supplies
for ranches and other organizations in the
Midwest. He also took over the family business,
Bruning Bank, and led a lengthy career in
banking and agribusiness. Frank helped form
the Farmers and Ranchers College and was a
strong supporter of educational opportunities
for all ages.
