Becky Johnstone Volunteer Coordinator The Democratic Party is more than winning elections, or registering voters. We also support our Com- munity in a variety of ways. Advo- cating for affordable & accessible heathcare, quality public education, and so much more. This holiday sea- son we support two local community organizations in their efforts. Quartzsite Food Bank provides food to those in need in Quartzsite and the surrounding area. It's sister or- ganization, Carol's Closet, named to honor the late Carol Kelley, former council member and director of the Food Bank, also provides clothing and household items. The Demo- cratic party choose the Food Bank to recieve a donation, because we believe no one should go hungry. Additionally, we provided assis- tance to the Paws of Parker efforts to provide our 4- legged friends at- tention. With no Veterinarians in the County, they assist with Rabies prevention, food, and other animal healthcare needs locally as well as visits to Blythe, Lake Havasu City, and Kingman to get the care for these animals. We heard these sto- ries and felt that we are all deserv- ing of care and concern. Ask yourselves what you can do to support our Community this holi- day season, since a little can go a long way to show compassion for all God's creatures.
