Hi Jolly Daze Parade planned January 14th By Shanana Rain Golden-Bear Quartzsite, AZ - The Annual Hi Jolly Daze Parade is planned for Sat- urday, January 14th, 2022. Parade starts at 11:00am and ends with festivities at the Dance Slab at Town Park. The Quartzsite Area Cham- ber of Commerce & Tourism invites everyone to be part of the fun. The Theme this year is "Camelmania." Line up is on E. Tyson St. near the Fire station starting at 9:30am. So get your party hats on and come out and enjoy the day! Gather your camels, fl oats, pets, bikes, dance & music groups, classic cars, off -road vehicles, bicycles, etc. and make this a great parade! This is a wonderful opportunity for businesses to show off too! And the entry is FREE! All groups, organizations, businesses, individu- als, are encouraged to participate. Everyone is invited to honor our past and our future. After the parade, enjoy festivities, food, awards presentation and the Ping Pong Ball Drop at the Park with live music from SKYHAWK! Parade entry forms are available on Page 30 of this edition and at the Quartzsite Chamber & Tourism offi ce located at 1240 W. Main Street, across from McDonald's Monday through Saturday 10am-2pm. Town Council members sworn in By Shanana Rain Golden-Bear Just prior to the regular Quartzsite Town Council meet- ing on December 13, 2022 Magis- trate Judge Pam Shirley swore in the incoming Council Members. Left to right: Lynda Goldberg, Loretta Warner, Devyn Rosner, Karey Amon, Sam Saxton. Rosner won a 2-year seat in the August primary election, while Amon won her 2-year seat in the general election. Also Goldberg, Warner, and Saxton won their 4-year seats in the general elec- tion in November. Mayor Norm Simpson and Starr BearCat were not up for election this cycle. During the meeting, Council- members voted to elect Lynda Goldberg as Vice Mayor.
