3 KAPPA ALPHA THETA 10.75" T he fall 2022 semester is well underway after recruiting and initiating 75 new members, placing third in Homecoming, and surpassing our $10,000 fundraising goal before our kickoff event. RECRUITMENT SUCCESS Our chapter now sits at over 250 members thanks in part to VP Membership Olivia Reynolds '19 and Recruitment Director Brenna Robinson '19 for all their hard work this recruitment season. Each new member brings a bright light to our chapter, and we are so excited to have them in our pledge families. Alpha Mu initiated all 75 members on September 24, 2022, with the help of VP Education Alli Brinton 20, Ritualist Lillie Williams '19, and New Member Directors Kayla Shelby '20 and Maggie Courtney '20. HOMECOMING HONORS This semester, we participated in Mizzou's 111th Homecoming with a cartoon theme. We placed first in service, helping organize Russell Fall Fest with our partner elementary school, Russell Boulevard Elementary. After having over 100% of our Homecoming pairing donate blood, we placed first in the blood drive as well. Additionally, we placed first in the skit and dance competition. Grace Breeding '19 won the commendation for Best Actress for her role as Ms. Frizzle. We placed third overall with our Magic School Bus theme, led by VP Panhellenic Dani Rotert '19, Year-Long Activities Chairman Rory Jaynes '20, and Semester-Long Activities Chairman Allison Eitel '20. SUPPORTING PHILANTHROPY Our philanthropic efforts are led by VP External Affairs Megan Garazin '20 and Fundraising Director Hannah Behlmann '20, and we're so proud to have surpassed our goal already. Alpha Mu will continue to fundraise through our flag football tournament, sponsorships, profit shares, and a late-night pancake dinner. Our chapter has been strengthened by all of our members and their contributions to the chapter—none of our accomplishments would have been possible without them.
