NEED A LITTLE CHRISTMAS?
Summer Jones Hudson of Johnson Florist in Stedman offers these
hints for getting your holiday on:
What's trendy? "Decor is leaning more traditional than it ever has.
Companies are getting more creative and detailed with greenery
that looks live and decor that looks natural with pops of sparkle. We
still have a lot of fun, whimsical clientele but the traditional items like
candles on your tree, plaids, beautiful glass ornaments and berries are
really making a comeback."
Decorating on a budget? "My suggestion to clients is always to save
your money and do one room/area at a time. We work with all levels of
budgets and try to fit each one the best we can."
Where to start? "If you are new to getting your home decorated, we
typically come out to determine your needs, provide a quote and then
execute what the client is most interested in. Most of our clients start
with one area of their home and add to their decor each year."
Marian Adams, Maria Fulcher's mother, chose a soft, metallic blue, silver and gold to match her bedroom colors. A large tree,
bows embellishing mirrors on either side of her bed, and a delicate snowman pillow complete the look. Below, the Hudsons
decorated Adalee's room with a tree wrapped in red and white ribbon and multicolored ornaments.
