So, we wanted to make a high alcohol porter but, while it came out with the dark color, it was more qualities of a stout because it's a little easier and lighter to drink. at's why we named it Wanna Be Stout® and although it wasn't what we were intending, it has become popular, so we keep making it." e th one currently on tap is called Drama Queen®. It's an Imperial IPA that is 9% alcohol. And, of course, being a savvy lawyer, all of these catchy names have been trademarked. e Arkansas Brewing Company has four flavored beers that are popular as well. All made with their lager as a base, they offer Blueberry, Raspberry, Lemon, and Pineapple. e brewery is not distributing their beer yet, but they are in the process of trying to work towards that. For now, if you want to get a taste of these creative concoctions, you have to come to Ozark and experience them on tap. While the beers would be enough to pack in the patrons, they are just half of the story. e restaurant has its own loyal following. "We tried to do a little more high-end pub food than just your normal burgers, chips and fries," Chris explained. "We offer a prime rib dinner on the rst ursday of each month along with a full menu available daily." e burgers served up at Arkansas Brewing Co. have garnered a nomination in the Best of River Valley competition as well as Best Bar and Grill in the River Valley, a very impressive accomplishment having only been in business one year. And one look at these unique creations you'll see why. e Brew-B-Q starts with a 1/3 lb. Angus beef patty and adds cheddar cheese, BBQ sauce, lettuce, tomato topped off with onion rings. e Monroe, for those who like it hot, features the 1/3 lb. Angus patty with pepper jack cheese, jalapenos, spicy mayo, lettuce, tomato and onion. If you feel in a creative mood yourself, they give you that option with their BYOB (Build Your Own Burger). Start with the 1/3 lb. Angus patty and take it from there. Choose from cheddar, Swiss or pepper jack cheese and your choice of toppings. Besides the burgers, they offer two chicken sandwiches—the Crispy Chicken and the Howlin' Hen with Buffalo sauce, and the Cuban that features ham and pulled pork. "We also have a Rueben and people come in just for that," Chris added. "Some of our customers swear it is the best they've ever had." Beyond the unique brews and delectable eats, Arkansas Brewing Co. is something to see and experience. "When you go to a traditional brewery it's normally a brewery with beer only, nothing really extraordinary," Chris said. "But we wanted to bring something to the area that no one else offered, where we could provide something for everyone. We have beer, wine and a full bar, along with a full menu. We are family friendly, so everyone is welcome. "I also think our building truly sets us apart from every other establishment in our area. When customers walk into our building, they are amazed at what they see," Chris continued. "We let the outside of the building untouched as it was structurally sound and well known in Ozark. We cleaned it, but it still looks like it did in 1945 when it was built. But when customers walk in, 99% of people say 'Wow,' when they open the door because when you come inside you don't think you're in Ozark anymore. You step in and think you are in Northwest Arkansas or Little Rock or another big city. We have chandeliers, we have leather booths, we have quartz countertops. We have four velvet couches that you can come relax and have a drink on. It's not your normal environment. It's denitely a step above the rest." Recently celebrating their rst year in business, Arkansas Brewing Co. has already become a popular watering hole and eatery in Ozark, making more new fans every day. "It is a huge honor to be featured, and we love the idea that more people will nd out about us and what we are doing, so maybe it will bring more people to our beautiful town of Ozark," Chris concludes.
