B eta Chi had a great summer and started fall semester strong! Spirit Week and Recruitment Over the summer, we had many members travel abroad in addition to taking trips to visit sisters in their hometowns. All our members reconvened in Lexington around the second week of August for Spirit Week. We had five themed days our members went all-out for—blue on blue, dress like your favorite artist, "On Wednesdays, We Wear Pink," sweet home Kappa Gamma, and The Grateful Dead—and we were able to see and talk to some of our alumnae that weekend! We also participated in two clothing drives that week: one for Eastern Kentucky and the other for new members going through primary recruitment. As recruitment ended, we were able to take 81 new members to make up our 2022 Beta Chi pledge class. We had an amazing Candy Land-themed Bid Day and loved getting to know our new members more. Sisterhood Events Big/little reveal and initiation for our new members was a success! With the reveal at the Kappa house on October 7, and initiation on October 15, it's been wonderful welcoming home our newest sisters. At the end of September, we had our first date party of the semester, KKGroovy, a family weekend at the house where we had a cookout, games, and a tote bag-painting sisterhood event. Philanthropic Efforts We also had a few members who were in Lexington and had a philanthropy photoshoot, showing off our love for mental health. We also held our Kappa Kup on October 16, benefiting our local philanthropy, the Kentucky Center for Grieving Children and Families. An Exciting Fall Coming up, we have planned a Kentucky football tailgate at the house, a Kappa dodgeball tournament, and many more sisterhood activities. Beta Chi Chapter is so excited to have a great rest of the semester! Loyally, Whitney Dhamer '20 Public Relations Chairman Mental health matters!
