We asked Stevi Hanson, Sonoma's
award-winning officiant, for some
tips. Here's what she had to say:
Start by asking for a referral from friends. Perhaps you've been to a
wedding recently where you were moved by the ceremony. You
might want to interview that offi ciant.
Next, search Google for Wedding Offi ciants in your area … that
should turn up lots of options from various marketplace sites. ese
vendor sites are something like dating sites in that you can scroll
through candidates and choose the highest rated.
I would also suggest talking to your wedding planner, as they would
have worked with many offi ciants and can recommend one that they
know is good! I would suggest interviewing a few candidates. is is
a big event, with a lot of moving parts, and you want your offi ciant
to be someone whom you feel completely comfortable with to ease
you through that all-important ceremony.
