Kitty Coen Buckwalter, Ph.D., RN,
FAAN '68 was recently honored by the
Midwest Nursing Research Society with
a 2022 MNRS Award. Kitty was one of
two professors to earn the Senior Nurse
Scientist Award within the Research and
Implementation Interest Group. We are
proud of our alumna sister and would
like to recognize Kitty's hard work
throughout her career.
Jeanne McCardell Hershey '54 resides in
Overland Park, Kan. She is proud to share
that her granddaughter, Jaden Runchey,
Alpha Omega 'YR, was initiated into

Inne Lee Kiipsaar Joonsar '64 lives in
Seminole, Fla. She spends time reading
and traveling with her husband, and they
enjoy visiting their son, daughter, and 10

Janet Johnson Nelson '65 is living
in a planned retirement community in
Gainesville, Ga. She participates in her
community while volunteering at a nearby
elementary school and church, and in
community activities.

Bonnie Thatcher Hardt '72 owns a
screen-printing business with her husband.
They live in Berlin, Md., just 10 minutes
away from their two grandchildren, Zeke

Nan Penman '73 relocated with her
husband to Bainbridge Island, Wash., to be
closer to their children on the west coast.

the Center for Broadening Participation in

Lisa Feddersen Schellenger '83 hopes
everyone is doing well, especially her '85
graduating class. She has been happily
married to John for almost 36 years, and the
two live in Highlands Ranch, Colo. They
have three children and one granddaughter

Kristen Beck '02 started her own business
during the pandemic, now proudly
operating a travel agency called Pin Your
Destination. She is accepting clients for
worldwide travel, and she would be happy
