a bike pad turtle head—all
salvaged in Park Spring
Park and bike trails.
"I love Mario, and Mario
has a lot of pipes in it, so
when I found an old pipe,
I knew it would be a good

Mary
"Mary Mouse"
2nd place
Mixed Age Division
Mary's little mouse has a
water bottle body,
pop tab eyes, wire
whiskers and a bungee
hook tail, along with
other objects found in
Park Spring Park and on
the nearby bike trail.

age 5
"robot Man"
1st place, Junior Division
Andrew's robot man
has bike reflector eyes,
a plastic cup body, bike
tube hair, one plastic
spoon arm and another
from a weed eater string.
"It was fun collecting and
picking up trash on our
hikes. I saw the trash and
thought of a robot." -

Braylee
age 6
"Fairy Garden"
2nd place, Junior Division
With tiny houses made
of glass baby food jar, a
Pringles container and
a plastic gum container,
Braylee's magical garden
also features paper
crinkle gift wrap grass,
bottle cap mushrooms,
a bubble wrap stream,
Lucky Charms box
rainbow and a pot of
"gold" with pieces cut
from a chocolate box.
Where are the fairies?
"The fairies are all hiding
because they don't want to
be found!" says Braylee.

This robot man features
a car filter body, a lighter
for a nose, wire arms
and a jet pack made of
bullet casings—all found in
Park Spring Park and the
surrounding area.

the earth ugly and the

Make sure to join in the fun for next year's
contest! You can enter as an individual or
with a group. Maybe your Girl or Boy scout
troop, classroom, or art class would like to
participate in this fun project and help clean
