(Right) Texas Athletic Director Chris del Conte paid our house a visit to speak at one of our chapter meetings. Afterward, he stepped outside to take a picture on the steps with members. T his past year, Omicron Chapter has excelled in several different areas. RECRUITMENT AND ACADEMICS We assembled a monumental pledge class comprised of 51 upstanding gentlemen this fall. These men would go on to excel in the academic arena. Our chapter GPA of 3.56 for 2021-22 was the highest of any Fraternity on campus and higher than the undergraduate average for the entire university! For those who have recommendations to share, Recruitment Chairman Bobby Baldwin '19 is available at (817) 313-0386. PHILANTHROPY Our philanthropy, led by senior Cole Kocurek '19, benefited multiple great causes. Our blood drive with We Are Blood was a massive success, collecting enough to save up to 117 lives. We also worked with Partners Against Child Trafficking, donating to their cause and educating our members on how to do their part to end child trafficking. We also donated an Independence Fund track chair that provided a wounded veteran a way to increase his mobility. We plan to replicate all three of these projects in the coming school year. REPRESENTING ON CAMPUS We have been quite involved in the Interfraternity Council over the past year, with senior Miller Hornsby '19 finishing out his term and junior Dawson Hastings '20 becoming the new vice president of communications. The Silver Spurs organization has also benefited from our active involvement: senior Luke Nettle '19 is on Cannon Crew and is responsible for firing Smokey, junior Jeremy Rubin '20 is on the selections committee, and junior McKennon Denny '20 is the chili cookoff chairman. We also have been represented in university athletics, with senior Ryan Michie '19 and junior Charles Garrison '20 spearheading recruiting for the football team, junior George Sayegh '20 playing for the club soccer team, and senior Michael Ramirez '20 as part of the fencing team. Our chapter has continuously grown—and will continue that upward trajectory—in involvement and reputation around campus this year. Visit us and see for yourself!
