A fter a very strong spring semester, the Brothers of Beta- Chi are looking to do even more. We put in the work and had the pleasure of seeing the results but are not yet happy with our success. FACE AND GREATER CAUSE AWARDS This summer, four delegates from our Chapter had the pleasure of traveling to Denver for the National Leadership Conference and accepting the Founder's Award for Chapter Excellence (FACE). We also received the Greater Cause award for service hours, which requires completing over 100 hours of service per man for the year. The Brothers of Beta-Chi now want to achieve the Founder's Circle (top 2% of Chapters that win FACE) for the 2022-23 academic year. SUCCESSFUL RECRUITMENT Toward this effort, Beta-Chi has the largest class since fall 2016. We currently have 31 men that have pledged themselves to our beloved Fraternity, all thanks to Recruitment Chairman Evan Ratermann '18. This class marks a turning point in Beta-Chi history as we move forward into bigger and better achievements and cement ourselves as the greatest Fraternity at Missouri S&T. COMMUNITY SERVICE This semester alone, we will complete at least 50 hours of community service and $250 of philanthropy per man. ACADEMICS Our Chapter will achieve an average GPA greater than 3.25, and there will not be another Kappa Sigma Chapter more ritually proficient than Beta-Chi. EVENTS AND COMPETITIONS Beta-Chi has numerous events planned throughout the year for service, philanthropy, recruitment, and Brotherhood. But our largest events, and the ones we are most excited for, keep the Brothers and alumni of Beta-Chi coming back. We start the fall semester off with Greek Week, which we won last year, and plan to do so again. After Greek Week, we kick off our Father's Weekend, followed by Buffet Bash the weekend after. The Brothers of Beta-Chi are most excited for Homecoming weekend, October 21-23, which will be coupled with our annual Oktoberfest philanthropy event on Friday, October 21. Planning for next semester, we are well on our way to completing our cudgel and competing in the St. Patrick's Day competition. Additionally, we will have our annual philanthropy fish fry and our Audubon Trail cleanup event. Beta-Chi could not be more excited to take on this academic year and smash all of the goals we have set before us. This will truly be a year that will never be forgotten in Beta-Chi history.
