We also have Heat Relief Packets especially for those without air conditioning. These items were purchased from a grant for Quartzsite and Ehren- berg fi rst responders and our in- need residents provided by Arizona Public Service APS. Included are a cooling towel, sunscreen, lip balm, electrolytes, bottle of water and hand sanitizer, etc. Hydration is so important here in our very hot des- ert. Please take care of each other and please check on your neighbors as well. We have been blessed with unusu- ally large donations of children's clothing, toys, and games. Volun- teer Jane continues to put in extra time to keep the racks loaded. Toys are washed and sanitized, sorted and priced to sell. Our Halloween decorations and costumes will be out shortly. Our shoes are in the process of be- ing displayed by size. A big project that will be a work in progress. Don't forget our adult and child diaper program is available. This is a monthly program with a simple sign-up procedure. We also have a large assortment of medical devices that are available on a loan-out basis with a refund- able deposit. We have donated $10.00 gift certifi - cates for the raffl e prize drawing. ENJOY A large THANK YOU to those that donated to our fundraising ef- forts for the Hero's Memorial Bell Garden plaques. We were able to purchase the Quartzsite Fire de- partment and the Quartzsite Police Department plagues with these do- nations. Plaques were presented at the September 11, 2022, ceremony along with The Salvation Army plaque. See picture. We continue to have free shoes, socks, and miscellaneous items out front of store and a free clothing rack and food available inside each day. With our newly alphabetized pa- perback book department, we also have .10 cent as -is books on the porch, and newly priced cookbooks are now mostly $1.00 each. WOW! Come and see. A big shoutout of THANKS to our cashier Holly, and Cookie, Pastor Jeremiah, Elizabeth and Handyman Jerry for coming to our rescue with our excessive fl ooding last month. Your efforts allowed us to open only just over an hour late. We had up to about 2 inches of rain on the porch area, offi ce, supply rooms, kitchen and work areas. We learned that adult diapers make great soaking cloths as our shop-vac didn't work. Jerry rescued that need, and we have since bought a new stainless- steel vacuum.
