2 D elta Chapter's executive board shared three large goals this year, and so far, our members have delivered. This fall, we look forward to improving in each of these areas to strengthen the brotherhood. Financials: The renovation was a large hit to the chapter's finances, as multiple purchases and fixes needed to be made to keep the house operating. Our business manager, Grant Brown '23 (Mahomet, Ill.), has worked with the executive board and chapter to save over $8,000 with cost reduction and income creation strategies. Recruitment: With the challenges of spring 2022 and the lessons learned of a post-COVID-19 chapter, we want to revamp and innovate our recruitment process. Delta Chapter is working closely with the Supreme Council and IFC to develop valuable strategies in recruiting the best men we can find. Chapter Culture: With online pledging and operations in the 2020-21 school year, the chapter saw many changes in how we interact. While many positives and negatives have risen from this, we want to capitalize on our experiences. Socially, the spring semester was important in bringing the brotherhood closer together and reestablishing the value of our house. Always Room for Improvement Always Room for Improvement (Continued from page 1) Our philanthropy chairmen, Alex Galik '23 (Darien, Conn.) and Will Greene '24 (Lake Zurich, Ill.), hosted a waffle brunch the morning after our semi-formal, raising $980 for Crisis Nursery! Our campus involvement also remains strong, and multiple brothers have expanded their networks through leadership positions in several organizations. Akarsh Vankayalapati '22 (Naperville, Ill.) finished his Engineering Council term as EXPO co-director; Ravyu Sivakumaran '24 (Singapore) leads as president of the UIUC Singapore Students Association; Riley Loveday '23 (Centreville, Va.) is the arena chairman and ESPL coordinator of Illinois Robotics; and Matthew Lotarski '23 was named the assistant vice president of recruitment for the Interfraternity Council. The future of our brotherhood looks bright; not only did we earn a 3.34 chapter GPA this spring, which is higher than the IFC and undergraduate GPAs, but many brothers secured internships over the summer and jobs after graduation. Some of the companies our brothers will be working for include Amazon, Facebook, Northrop Grumman, Ford, Enercon, BP, ExxonMobil, Space-X, and Psyonic. Additionally, at this year's Engineering Open House in April, Steven Dimov '23 (Carol Stream, Ill.) took the lead on creating Guitar Hero on a field-programmable gate array (FPGA) from scratch, which was a great representation of how the brotherhood has grown professionally over the past semester. Overall, last spring showed lots of improvement, and we can't wait to see what this fall will bring. Fraternally, Dino Keserovic '23 Chief Engineer Michael McGinnis '22 and Dillan Kenney '22 celebrate their graduation with Alma herself. Congratulations class of 2022! Ishaan Murarka '23, Brett Patterson '22, and John Armgardt '22 get lunch at the Hampton Social before heading to Lollapalooza Chicago 2022. Shyam Upadhyay '22, Jason Drews '22, and Dino Keserovic '23 travel to Berlin to see some great bands perform at Tempelhof Sounds 2022.
