Now is your chance to see them live and re-created by Las Vegas' number one impersonators of all time. Anthony & Eddie Edwards use state-of-the-art make-up to look and sound like superstars Sonny and Cher, Billy Joel, Elton John, Neil Diamond, Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Lady Gaga, Celine Dion, Tom Jones and many more. The show starts at 7 p.m. and tickets are $30. SATURDAY, AUGUST 27 FAMILY FUN DAY RICK'S PLACE 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. All are welcome to the Umoja Festival which will celebrate unity, family, culture and community. This free event, being hosted by Umoja Group Inc., is an annual African American cultural festival fea- turing music, storytelling, cultural displays, drummers, dancers, steppers, tennis clinic, basketball and horseshoe tournaments and food. R&B Artists, J. Lynn X Jerynee, will be performing live at Seabrook Park. Cape Fear Valley Health will also be hosting free health screenings and free one-on-one appointments at the Smith Recreation Center. LET'S PLAY! 1897 POE HOUSE 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Come by to pick up your free toys and games "History To-Go" box and stay to play! Join the Museum of the Cape Fear Historical Complex in the backyard of 1897 Poe House every Saturday in August for some family friendly fun. They will have a variety of toys and games to choose from including marbles, checkers and hopscotch. This month's History To-Go box complements their current exhibit "Let's Play! A Time Warp to Toys of the Past" which will be available to view through Sept. 4. This special exhibit chronicles the development of toys and play as they accompanied the emergence of modern childhood. The exhibit tells the story of growing up in America. MAKEOVERS & MIMOSAS THE SIP ROOM 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Make the most of your Monday by com- ing to Makeup & Mimosas at the Sip Room, located at 106 Hay St. in downtown Fayetteville. This free event will provide free makeovers and makeup tips by Tabbey Layne Beauty. $3 mimosas will be available. MONDAY, AUGUST 29 THURSDAY, AUGUST 25 CAREER SUMMIT IRON MIKE CONFERENCE CENTER 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. Hiring Our Heroes is coming back to Fort Bragg for the 2022 Fort Bragg career Summit. The career summit is designed to educate, inspire and connect service members, veterans, military spouses and caregivers with military-ready employers. All service members, including members of the National Guard and Reserve, family members and veterans are invited. Scheduled workshops include: career planning, use of digital networking sites, resume writing and interviewing. More than 70 employers will participate and be prepared to interview and hire potential employees on the spot. For more informa- tion and registration, visit www.hiringourheroes.org. 7 p.m. SATURDAY, AUGUST 27 FRIDAY, AUGUST 26 WOMEN OF POWER BRUNCH CAPE FEAR BOTANICAL GARDEN 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. The Women of Power Society and CEED are hosting an exciting program celebra- ting the continued work and progress of women in our nation and our community. Justice Patricia Timmons-Goodson and Kathy Keefe-Jensen will be speaking during the brunch. Bring a group of your friends and reserve a table of 8 for brunch and networking for $250 per table. Individual tickets are available for purchase for $30 per ticket. Your ticket includes brunch and unreserved seating at the event. UMOJA FESTIVAL SEABROOK PARK 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Come out and join the team at Rick's Place for their August Family Fun Day. Rick's Place looks forward to bringing mili- tary families fun, quality activities on their fun days. Activities will include field games, a foam party and other fun activities. Two Austin East- ciders will be paired with two four-inch savory pies. There will be an art gallery by Natty and Nice Creations. Paintings will be available for purchase. Live music by Moonlight Stories featuring Syreeta Jackson on clarinet and Champ Saint-Amand on guitar will be available for your enjoyment.
