Watch them on-line at www.QuartzsiteVideos.com Seeking a third two-year term on Quartzsite Town Council. My campaigning is done meeting residents at the Post Offi ce, hardware store, grocery store, Commu- nity Center, RV parks and local events. MY 20+ YEARS AS A LANDLORD HAS TAUGHT ME TO: 1.Listen to concerns and requests 2. Ask how we can work together to resolve issues 3. Make clear the responsibilities of each party 4. Hold fast to the agreed upon ruler of the house 5. Five years in Quartzsite town government serving on the Planning & Zoning Commission along with the Town Council helped me understand the limitations of government and how to make projects work within the guidelines in State and Local Ordinances. I volunteer for all town events, participate in 4-H programs and County Fair judging, donate, help with after-school programs, support school fundraising events, attend graduation exercises and invite our youth to participate in town hall presentations and recognition events. I serve on the County WACOG Board and League of Town and Cities Government and Elections Committee. I am a mem- ber of Quartzsite Women's Club which is a non-profi t serving our community with scholarships and fi nancial needs. 6. I do not have a list of things to change in Quartzsite because we work constantly on the process of studying, verifying and fi nding support from residents on the projects brought forward each month. I believe the changes we want come from the process of administering the codes and procedures we have in place to meet resident and business owner requests. 7. Most important is Planning & Zoning issues. I encourage residents to attend the meetings on the General Plan assessments. That is where everything starts when planning growth for Quartzsite. Water conservation is also of primary importance. The town is developing plans to capture and recycle water for re-use in irrigating and landscaping. Our wastewater treatment plant is performing well, and our new water well is ready to meet the de- mand for residents and visitors. When council members attend county, district or state meetings we are told what an amazing transformation Quartzsite has undergone. Work done by staff on beau- tifi cation is extensive and recognized by those outside of our town. I also support Quartzsite's Clean-up days by removing unwanted items from residents' yards. I am excited to be re-elected and serve again on the Quartzsite Town Council to complete projects being worked on and have a part in new projects to advance improvements and growth of our town! The woodchipper located behind the Waste/Water Treatment Plant should only be used for dumping tree trimmings and other discard- ed vegetation. Illegal dumping of trash, building/construction mate- rial, concrete, and other debris are prohibited. BLM [Bureau of Land Management] has graciously al- lowed us to utilize this land to dis- pose of discarded vegetation. Continuous dumping of prohibited materials will result in the closure of the woodchipper. Please take all other debris and trash to the local or county landfi ll for proper dispos- al. Illegal dumping could result in a fi ne of $500 dollars and/or 30 days in jail. If you have any questions contact QPD at 928-927-6444.
