R.C. "Bob" Vause founded the company in April 1945 with little to his name. With the help of a few bank loans and hard work, he signed a contract with Allis Chalmers. His degree from N.C. State and experience as a farmer in La Grange gave Bob both the intimate knowledge of farming and a deep appreciation for North Carolina farmers. Vause Equipment was incorporated in 1947. From the start, Bob involved his son Bobby in the everyday tasks and management of Vause Equipment. In 1978, Bob Vause's sudden death left his son to carry on the company's tradition of success and customer service. Granddaughter Misha Vause, Bobby's daughter, will be joining the company as well. "Pride, family, legacy and a connection to my roots have inspired me," she said. "Vause Equipment Incorporated is still an integral part of the farming community in North Carolina. My grandfather taught my dad, and my dad is working on teaching me. One day, I hope to take the company past 100 years and make both of them proud." In August of 1983, Bobby Vause acquired the Ford Tractor contract to add to Vause Equipment's line of farm equipment.
