As always, thank you for your continued support. You can help us shape the future of Sigma of Alpha Delta Pi. The opening to our creed states "I believe in Alpha Delta Pi. I believe that my sorority is more than a ritual or a symbol, that it is a way of life." We believe Alpha Delta Pi is a way of life and hope you do, too. S igma has been off to an amazing start in 2022. First and foremost, we have had an amazing addition to our chapter, Barbara Austin, who is our new house director. Barbara has hosted cleaning and coloring events, and she makes the most delicious cider, hot chocolate, and pudding! Barbara has been a gift to Sigma, as her warm presence and loving personality are greatly appreciated. She can be heard checking in on sisters' days, making sure the house has enough inventory, and adding fun decorations! We look forward to growing alongside Barbara. As a chapter, we have had wonderful successes in campus involvement, philanthropy, sisterhood events, and academics. For campus involvement, roughly 97% of our members are involved in an organization outside of Alpha Delta Pi. Of this 97%, 39% of our sisters hold leadership roles in these organizations. Clara Cupuro '19, previous president and current leadership engagement specialist, has encouraged this involvement by highlighting a new Registered Student Organization, or RSO, each week that some of our members belong to. Also, Clara highlights a Sigma alumna each week and offers advice they would give to future college students. Sigma has appreciated all of this guidance, and this leadership truly reflected in our campus involvement statistics. In April, Sigma held two philanthropy events, benefitting Ronald McDonald House Charities. After two years of not hosting Kickin' It with ADPi due to COVID-19, Anna Wymoczyl '20, director of internal philanthropy, and Sarah Chavez '20, director of external philanthropy, organized the kickball event with six participating organizations. This event raised roughly $700, and our sisters had so much fun coaching and refereeing the games! Additionally, Sigma hosted its annual ADPicnic with over 400 students in attendance, raising $3,774. Barbecue chicken, macaroni and cheese, watermelon, and lemonade were enjoyed by all, and attendees were able to Pie a Pi outside for one dollar. Anna, Sarah, and the philanthropy committee did an exemplary job coordinating these events, and Sigma is excited for future philanthropy opportunities this upcoming year. In the midst of campus and community engagement, Sigma has also excelled in academics and sisterhood. With the chapter GPA being 3.54, sisters have spent a majority of their time doing homework at the table in the formal living room and studying on the sunny porch. Our very own Yonglin Zheng '19, director of academic affairs, hosted a study event with our sister sorority, Chi Omega, in March. There were 75 members in attendance between both chapters. This was such a success that we are looking to host another study event soon! Sisterhood Program Specialist Alyssa Esposito '20 has been recognized and appreciated by members for her creative sisterhood events and dedication to building on the connections between our sisters. Some fun events that she has hosted include a movie night, Wii game night, bowling at the Union, and karaoke. Sigma appreciates the dedication from all of its sisters and looks forward to a successful recruitment cycle in the fall! As busy as this semester was, Sigma sisters wouldn't change a thing. We look forward to yet another successful year ahead. Until then, we hope you have a great summer! Love & Violets, Grace DeGroff '20 Chapter President Sigma's annual ADPicnic philanthropy dinner event at the Sigma Chapter house. Over 400 people attended, and "Pie a Pi" took place on the front porch!
