Spring 2022 Rewind TEXAS ALPHA REVELS IN ACHIEVEMENTS AND CELEBRATIONS Founders Day Founders Day 2022 took place during the weekend of February 25-27 and was packed full of events. The weekend kicked off with Texas playing No. 1 ranked Alabama in baseball on Friday night and concluded with an eventful dinner reception at the UT Club at D.K.R. Stadium. This year's honorees were: Robert Johnson '64 – George Nelson Lytle Service Award Jay Carvell '85 – Tex Schramm Service Award Blake Butler '18 – Undergraduate Service Award James Gerwe '18 – Undergraduate Service Award Andrew Gilbert '18 – Undergraduate Service Award Jake Johnson '18 – Undergraduate Service Award Luke Kirkpatrick '18 – Undergraduate Service Award Michael Revis '18 – Undergraduate Service Award With over 350 guests in attendance, it was a night to remember and certainly enjoyed by all. Bermuda Formal Another time-honored tradition for Texas Alphans throughout the decades also saw a return with a splash this spring! Our Bermuda Formal took place on Saturday, April 30, and included a full feature water wall, ice sculpture, steel drum band and fire dancers. This was the second event to be hosted at the new house, and every brother helped with the planning, organizing, building and set up for the event, which made it that much more special. Each year the event continues to grow in success, size and obviously entertainment! Senior Sendoff While it was sad to see them go, and they will be missed, it was fun to host the Senior Sendoff on Friday, May 20. Parents of the graduating seniors planned the entire event, and it was a night to be remembered. Between live music from JD Casper Band, speeches from seniors and parents and catered barbecue from Austin's own Stiles Switch, it was great to reminisce and share the memories and experiences of the past four years. The return to normalcy couldn't have happened fast enough. Every opportunity to bring back staple events was seized and enjoyed immensely this academic year!
