3 MEET OUR ADVISORY BOARD WHY OUR MEMBERS CHOSE SIGMA CHI DREW BURNETT '25 MEMPHIS, TENN. "I chose Sigma Chi because when I walked into the house as a rushee, I met guys who I looked up to and wanted to be like in the future. I immediately felt like part of a brotherhood that valued good morals, high ambition, and personal responsibility." ANDREW SMITH '25 JACKSON, TENN. "I chose Sigma Chi because the people I met during recruitment were the guys I wanted to model myself after, and I could see myself making lifelong friends here." ANDREW HOLMES '25 JACKSON, MISS. "I saw the friendships, opportunities for success, and ideals that Sigma Chi stands for. I instantly knew that I wanted to be a part of it." C H A P T E R E T E R N A L Daniel Clyde Hughes Jr. '65 entered the Chapter Eternal on March 11, 2022. Along with Sigma Chi, Dan was also a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Beta Gamma Sigma, Delta Sigma Phi, and Beta Alpha Psi. He was active in raising funds for the new Sigma Chi house. In addition, he created the Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Clyde Hughes Scholarship Fund to assist deserving students. He began his career with the accounting firm Peat, Marwick, Mitchell and Company before becoming a CPA. He held multiple positions in various other financial companies before buying Hughes Equipment Company. After selling that business, he focused on asset management, securities, and developing real estate. Dan was an outdoorsman and was involved in many conservation and wildlife organizations. He was also passionate about golf, and he enjoyed traveling around the country to play on different courses. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Marc Mercier '98 Chapter Advisor In February, I accepted the honor of becoming Eta Chapter advisor, and am excited to work with and help the outstanding young men of Sigma Chi. I'm from the class of 1998 and served as recruitment chairman in 1996. While at Ole Miss, I met my wife, Janine, and we now have four children. Our two oldest children, Marc (21), an Eta Sig, and Isabella (18), are both at Ole Miss. Our two other daughters, Audrey (17) and Georgia (15), are students at Oxford High School. After I completed dental school in 2007, we moved to Oxford where I currently practice in addition to another practice in New Albany, where I grew up and attended high school. The job of advisor for the chapter is too large for one individual, and I would not have accepted the position without knowing that I would be surrounded by some incredible and competent Sigs to assist me and comprise our advisory board. A little about these men and their backgrounds is below. Pat Brown '82 Chapter Ritual Advisor Pat, of Oxford, is married to the former Ginger Hill. They raised their three children in Oxford and are adjusting to the empty nest. Their two sons are Eta Chapter Sigs; one is an active sophomore, and the other is an Ole Miss Eta grad of 2021. Their daughter is a Delta Gamma who graduated UM in 2020. Pat works as senior leader of Enterprise Sales with financial software company CoreLogic, or FNC Inc., a longtime spinoff from the UM Business School. He served on the housing corporation for several years and plans to have even more involvement with the chapter as an advisor and by working to involve more local Oxford alumni by scheduling monthly events. Tonquin Stovall '90 Chapter Financial Advisor Since graduating from Ole Miss in 1990, Tonquin has been working in banking. Primarily involved in the mortgage industry, he owned a mortgage banking company for 15 years in Jackson, Mississippi. He sold it to BankFirst in 2018 and relocated to Oxford. He now serves as senior vice president and is in charge of managing the mortgage department for the bank, with locations in Mississippi and Alabama. In addition, he is active as a board member and serves on the executive committee of his hometown bank in Okolona. Along with banking, Tonquin also owns a farm in Monroe and Chickasaw counties. He and his wife, Stacy Smith Stovall, are the proud parents of three boys: Adam (25) Clark (22) and Shelby (18). Dodds Dehmer '95 Chapter Alumni Relations Advisor Dodds is married to Lindsay Hines Dehmer, and they have three children: Nash (21), a junior Eta Sig, Ridley (18), a soon-to-be freshman at Ole Miss, and Rimes (14), an eighth grader at Jackson Academy. Dodds is general counsel for The Yates Companies where he works daily with two Eta Significant Sigs, Bill '63 and William Yates '94. Dodds was Eta consul in 1995. Michael Greer '16 Chapter P4B Advisor Michael graduated from Ole Miss with a bachelor's in mechanical engineering. While in school, he served as assistant magister for Eta Chapter. He is the owner of Vault Entertainment Inc., a full-service entertainment production provider for live events based out of Oxford. He also owns Vault Farms LLC, an equestrian boarding facility, and Vault Outdoor Solutions LLC., a full-service pressure washing and soft washing operation. Michael's wife, Selby Greer, is a dietitian at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Clay Wooley '17 Chapter Liaison to International Headquarters Clay is from Jackson, Mississippi, and attended the University of Mississippi from 2013-18, where he studied mechanical engineering with an emphasis in manufacturing and a minor in theater. While at Ole Miss, he pledged Sigma Chi in the fall of 2013 and served as an assistant magister for two years and consul from 2015- 16. Clay currently lives in Jackson and is married to Helen House. He is employed by C. Spire and Tribal Communications as a wireless deployment engineer and project coordinator. Thank you, Jon Fisher '84, for serving Eta Chapter! We appreciate everything you did as chapter advisor, and your efforts will leave a legacy on Sigma Chi.
