page 2 C ommon interests are foundational within a community. Whether you have a passion for service, an admiration of traveling, or a similar hobby, you can find communities that cater to your interests, such as philanthropies, travel groups, or extracurriculars. The beauty of being an alumna is that there is a built-in common interest amongst anyone who was also a member of Greek life. Sisters can find alumnae groups in their local areas or in a populated city nearby. Luncheon coordinators Nancy Stough Hillhouse '67 and Carol Ruegge Powell '61, as well as past President Laura D. Smith, D.O. '81, found a community in the St. Louis Alumnae Group, and they view this group as a gift that keeps on giving. In addition to the communal aspect and sense of belonging, the St. Louis Alumnae Group offers sisters the opportunity to connect with new sisters and rekindle sparks with sisters from years ago. Nancy shared, "Becoming involved in the alumnae group was a way to reconnect with Tri Delta friends I had met in college as well as meet new people, and I've enjoyed every bit of it!" Similarly, Laura noted, "When I moved to St. Louis for fellowship training, I knew I wanted to surround myself with women with related Tri Delta goals that I had, yet with diverse background and experience, and the rest is history!" "In addi on to taking leadership roles with our chapter, ge ng to know St. Louis sisters and having them become a part of my life has brought me closer to Tri Delta. These women are successful and posi ve role models, with endless support and encouragement to each other." –Laura D. Smith, D.O. '81 Alumnae gatherings consist of 5-10 sisters getting together at a restaurant or a sister's home where they enjoy food and libations, participate in a short meeting of announcements, attend a scheduled activity (cooking class, rituals, wine tasting), and catch up on life updates. These reunions create meaningful moments for sisters: F I N D A N A L U M N A E G R O U P N E A R YO U !
