Agency owner Aida Algarin believes that confidence is key and support is the cornerstone of one's birth and postpartum journey. She has assembled a team of childbirth educators, birth doulas, and postpartum doulas who share in this vision and maintain the same high standards in providing compassionate support to expecting families. With a prior career in project management, Algarin has a trained eye for both spotting talent and building high-performing teams. As a result, she has grown Central Carolina Doulas into the premier doula agency in central North Carolina (spanning across Cumberland, Hoke, Moore, and Harnett counties). Central Carolina Doulas offers an array of professional services that include childbirth education classes, newborn care classes, birth doula support, postpartum doula support, placenta encapsulation, infant feeding support, baby-wearing education, and car seat safety education with an in-house Safe Kids Child Passenger safety technician. All services are also available in Spanish. Private childbirth and newborn care classes are held at the agency office and education center located in the heart of downtown Fayetteville. Birth doulas provide educational, emotional, and physical support throughout a family's pregnancy. Not only are doulas experts in childbirth and professional labor coaches, but they also serve as confidants and trusted advisers during pregnancy. Bringing a baby home is often a complex time in the lives of new and seasoned parents. The combination of emotions can be overwhelming. Professional postpartum support is key to ensuring a smoother postpartum transition. The goal of postpartum doulas is to aid in the postpartum parent's recovery, help baby adjust to life outside the womb, and assist with daily needs of the household. Postpartum doulas provide emotional support and hands-on infant feeding support, ensure parents get more rest, assist with infant care, prepare family meals, and older sibling care. Shifts can be scheduled during the day, evening, or overnight. Central Carolina Doulas offers a unique service called sibling care support. A sibling care doula provides professional in-home care for children while their parents are giving birth to their new sibling or recovering from birth. This is an on-call/hourly service designed to meet the needs of military families who do not have access to the support of their extended family or for families lacking reliable child care. Central Carolina doulas are trained and certified with nationally recognized doula training organizations, certified in first aid and CPR, and hold professional liability insurance. The Central Carolina Doula team is available to speak with families who are ready to unlock the door to an exceptional birth and parenting experience.
