Bob Bartelsmeyer is the new Elections Director for La Paz County. Bar- telsmeyer assumed the duties on Monday, April 4, 2022. He has over 30 years of county government and elections experience. He told Desert Messenger, "I was elected County Clerk in Missouri for 23 years and has served in election supervisory roles in AZ, FL, NM and CO. I will ensure that elections are secure, transparent, accessible, free, and fair that inspire public confi dence in the election system. I am thrilled to have this opportunity to join La Paz County." Desert Messenger asked, "What would you like the voters in Quartzsite to be aware of the most about you and/or the County elections depart- ment?" Bartelsmeyer responded, "I have a listening ear for any concerns or suggestions that will make the elections fair, honest and transparent. We always need good people to volunteer as election poll workers to help make that happen." When asked, "What questions do you answer from the public the most?" Bartelsmeyer replied, "Is the election equipment the same as Maricopa County? No it is not as we have ES&S and Maricopa has Dominion." And what is the best part of your job? Bartelsmeyer stated, "Free, Fair, and secure elections are essential to the American way of life, and it is my honor to take on this responsibility."
