Absolutely no sheep weighing less than 80 lbs. will be allowed to stay at the fairgrounds, you will be told to take them home. 18. all clipping/grooming chutes mUsT bE on the north half of the East side only of the livestock barn. 19. Absolutely NO drenching of ANY KIND is allowed. 20. All animals will be inspected (without covers) INSIDE the trailer prior to entering the barn area. If any animals on the trailer are contagious the ENTIRE trailer will be sent home immediately! Market Lamb Classes Section 1 Classes: Class 1 - Market Lambs, Class 2 - Pairs, Class 3 - Group of Five, Class 4 - Showmanship 1. Wethers or ewe lambs may be shown. 2. Lambs must weigh at least 80 pounds and have lamb teeth. 3. Animals must be owned by the exhibitor by August 1st. 4. Exhibitors will be allowed to show only three market lambs, wethers, or ewes. One of these three can be shown in the Commercial Ewe Show. commercial Ewe class will be an extra entry fee. 5. If the Market Lamb Grand or Reserve champion happens to be a Ewe it Will noT be allowed to show in the commercial Ewe show! Junior Breed / Commercial Ewe Classes Section 2 All animals must have registration certificates at time of fair check-in. NO pending registration will be accepted. Commercial Ewe classes will be the same as breed. Registered breeding sheep only, may be bedded on straw • Class #1 - Junior ram lamb (born on or after Jan. 1, 2022) • Class #2 - Senior ram lamb (born Sept.1 to Dec. 31, 2021) • Class #3 - Yearling ram (born Jan.1 to Aug. 31, 2021) • Class #4 - Aged ram (born before Jan. 2021) • Champion Ram Ribbon • Reserve Champion Ram Ribbon • Overall Champion Ram Ribbon • Class #5 - Junior ewe lamb (born on or after Jan.1, 2022) • Class #6 - Senior ewe lamb (born Sept.1, to Dec. 31, 2021) • Class #7 - Yearling ewe lamb (born Jan.1, to Aug. 31, 2021) • Class #8 - Aged ewe (born before Jan. 2020) • Champion Ewe Ribbon • Reserve Champion Ewe Ribbon • Overall Champion Ewe Ribbon MARKET LAMB SHOWMANSHIP 1. jUniors: All exhibitors 9-11 years of age who have not won this class. The first- place winner will move to the next level and show again. 2. inTErmEdiaTE: All exhibitors 12-13 years of age who have not won this class and those who have won the junior class. The first place will move to the next level and show again. 3. sEnior: All exhibitors 14 years of age and older as described by the General Livestock Rules who have not won this class and those who have won the Intermediate class. The first-place winner will move to the next level and show again. 4. sUpEr shoWmanship: All exhibitors who have previously won the Senior Showmanship Class. Clover bud Market Lambs Section 3 Classes: Class 1 - Market Lambs, Class 2 - Pairs, Class 3 - Group of Five, Class 4 - Showmanship 1. All exhibitors must be 5 - 8 years old on the day of the show. 2. All exhibitors must be able to show their own lamb(s) without assistance other than the ring person (NO PARENTS are allowed In the Ring) as designated by rule #15 of the General Livestock Rules. 3. Each Clover bud agrees to care for and protect the lamb until the fair is over. 4. All animals must be shown with halters. 5. Clover bud Showmanship 5–8-year- old. 6. Animals must be owned by the exhibitor by August 1, 2022. They will be nose printed on that date. 106 2022 Benton County Fair
